October 19, 2021: The M.I.A.C. Cross Country Championship was held Tuesday at Hudson Mills Metropark and was hosted by Whitmore Lake High School. In the girls’ race, Lutheran NW captured their 2nd straight Conference Championship while the Whitmore Lake boys’ were crowned Conference Champions for the 2nd time in 3 years. Individually, Huron Valley Lutheran’s Junior Erika Van Loton captured her 3rd straight M.I.A.C. title finishing in 19:24 by edging out Lutheran NW Junior Mackenzie Lemke who finished in 19:25. Oakland Christian Freshman Eliza Keith rounded out the top 3 finishing in 19:51. Individually for the boys, Oakland Christian Senior Ethan McFarland raced to the individual championship in 17:15. Lutheran Westland Freshman Tom Shafer placed 2nd in 17:27 while Whitmore Lake Senior Cole Rinna was 3rd in 17:35.
