M.I.A.C. February Athletes of the Month

Lutheran Northwest

Andrew Kasat, Lutheran Northwest, Sophomore,  Boys’ Basketball

Andrew led his team to a tie for first place in his division-helping his team in big victories within the conference.  Averaged 20 PPG (including 35% from three-point range) during the month of February against double teams and defenses designed to stop him from scoring.

 

Southfield Christian

Mike Lividini, Southfield Christian, Senior, Boys’ Basketball

Mike is averaging 22.2 points a game this season and eclipsed the 1,000 career point-scoring mark this month becoming the 7th player in school history to reach that mark.  In February, Mike is averaging 25.7 points a game in seven games including a 39-point game in a victory over Clarenceville.

Competitive Cheer Team, Southfield Christian

The SCS competitive cheer team finished with a 2nd place finish in the conference this year and were 9th at the MHSAA District.  Congratulations on a great season to the team that consisted of Trinity Harris, Taylor Williams, Gabriele Shepherd, Nia Jones, Bailey Murray, Cara Williams, and Cara Williams.

 

Plymouth Christian Academy

Nate Pierson, Plymouth Christian Academy, Senior, Boys’ Basketball

Nate has had a tremendous season so far for the boys basketball team. He is averaging 19ppg, shooting 80% from the free throw line and 41% from 3-point. Nate is a captain on the team and he help lead the Eagles to a 17-4 record so far this season and led the eagles to a 10-0 conference record to clinch the MIAC title for the 3rd straight year. Nate is a humble athlete who excels in all areas of the school. He is a great representation of Plymouth Christian!

Maddie Yeager, Plymouth Christian Academy, Senior, Girls’ Basketball

Maddie has had an amazing season for the girl’s basketball team! She has played a huge role on both ends of the floor, averaging 11.5 ppg, 4 rpg, 3 apg, and 2 spg. Maddie has a calm and humble demeanor off the court but on the court, she is a fierce competitor, typically guarding an opponents best player. She is a joy to watch when she is having fun and occasionally caught dancing to music during timeout breaks. She has helped lead the eagles to 17-6 record and 8-0 conference record which is good for the 3rd straight and only titles in program history.

Lutheran Westland

James Bigelow, Lutheran Westland, Senior, Wrestling 

James took 4th at the Adrian Madison Invitational, 3rd at Districts at the Division 3 level, and 2nd at Regionals to qualify for the state meet for the first time in his career. This regional was one of the toughest in the state.

Lillian Fremder, Lutheran Westland, Sophomore, Girls’ Basketball 

Lillian has shown a tremendous amount of growth and leadership in the month of February, leading the way in scoring (we can look at other statistics) as well as hitting a Roeper game winner.

 

The Roeper School

Natalia Salinas, The Roeper School, Sophomore, Girls’ Basketball

Natalia has found her confidence! In the month of February Natalia has been a key asset on the defensive and offensive end of the floor. Hitting a lot of game shifting buckets at the right time for the Roughriders. Sophomore Natalia Salinas helped her team go 8-2 for the month of February. Averaging about 6pts and 2ast per in the month of February.

Amare McElwee, The Roeper School, Senior, Boys’ Basketball

Senior, Amare McElwee averaged 8 points per game during February.  He helped lead the team to a 5-5 record during the month.

Oakland Christian

Angelina Tringali, Oakland Christian, Senior, Basketball
Angelina was just the 6th girl in Oakland Christian history to pass the 1,000-point mark. She also broke the school record for points while averaging 21.1 points per game and shooting 35% from behind the 3-point line.
Jack Currie, Oakland Christian, Senior, Basketball
Jack has led the Lancers all season in almost every category for the month of February PPG 16.6, RPG 7, AST/TO Ratio 3.11 SPG 1.7 while being a great servant leader for the program.
Clarenceville High School

Damon Harris, Clarenceville, Senior, Basketball

Damon Harris is 2nd Team All Conference! He is a true leader on and off the court. He led the team with his leadership and game play to the District Championship.
