M.I.A.C. October Athletes of the Month

Lutheran Westland

Boys’ Cross Country Team, Lutheran Westland, Cross Country

When it’s time to perform at a meet, the Lutheran Westland boys cross country is ready, and they put on a show at the Regional meet last Friday with all 7 varsity runners running in under 19:30 to win the Regional!

Bella Perez, Lutheran Westland, Senior, Volleyball 

In 12 matches in October Bella averaged 5.6 kills a match while hitting a team high .204 for the Warriors who finished 3rd in the MIAC Red this year and swept the varsity Huron Valley Quad on 10/27.

The Roeper School

Natalie Gibbs, The Roeper School, Sophomore, Cross Country

Natalie recently qualified for the MHSAA State Finals for the second time in two years.  She is looking to improve on her school record and All State performance from last year, Good Luck Natalie.

 

Conor Field, The Roeper School, Junior, Soccer

Conor was one of the keys to Roeper’s strong finish this season.  Conor received all Conference and District honors this year and is a strong candidate to receive All State recognition.  Several shut outs and some key saves helped keep Roeper in the game contributing to many memorable wins.

 

Clarenceville

Jordan Williams, Clarenceville, Senior, Football

Jordan Williams, a Senior Running Back at Clarenceville has had 1051 yards and 13 touchdowns rushing and 185 yards receiving with 3 touchdowns in the month of October.

 

Southfield Christian 

Taniya Hall, Southfield Christian, Sophomore, Volleyball

Taniya has been an integral part of the volleyball team capturing a MIAC conference title this season.  She is a solid all-around player but has shone defensively cracking into the Eagle’s record book.  The second-year varsity player looks to help lead her as they start MHSAA Tournament play this week.

 

Luke Thompson, Southfield Christian, Senior, Football

Luke played running back and linebacker this season for the football team.  He earned all-league honors and was named the team’s offensive player of the year.  Luke is a gifted player who will be missed next season.

 

Plymouth Christian Academy

Noah Etnyre, Plymouth Christian Academy, Senior, Football

Noah Etnyre led Lutheran Westland football with another great season. He led the team in TD’s (12), Passing yards (495 yds.), rushing yards (552 yds.), and sacks (3.5). He also was 3rd on the team in total tackles with 42. Noah was a 2-time captain on the team. Great job Noah!

 

Kate Creighton, Plymouth Christian Academy, Junior, Volleyball

Kate is a junior captain who plays libero and setter for the #7 (D3) ranked girls’ volleyball program and has done a tremendous job leading the team through a 10-0 conference record and a number of tough non-conference opponents. We are excited for the girls as they start their playoff run!

 

Whitmore Lake

Carina Burchi, Whitmore Lake, Freshman, Cross Country

MIAC Individual Champion, Regional Individual Champion, ran the second fastest time in school history (18:42).  Paced the girls’ team to both MIAC and Regional Championships.

 

Braylan Majesky, Whitmore Lake, Senior, Cross Country

Braylan finished 1st in the conference championship jamboree.  This past Friday, he finished 1st at the Regional with a time of 16:40.  He helped lead our boys’ team to a Regional title and a return trip to the State Finals.
