M.I.A.C. September Athletes of the Month

Parkway Christian 

DJ Quest, Parkway Christian, Junior, Football

DJ Quest has been developing his leadership skills along with his football abilities.  His determination to be an impact player on both the offensive and defensive teams has led to his success on the gridiron.

 

Hadley Schaefer, Parkway Christian, Senior, Volleyball

Hadley is a leader on the volleyball court in skill development and mental toughness.  She leads the team with over 130 kills and 50 aces.  Hadley strives to encourage her team to greater heights.

 

Huron Valley Lutheran

Benny Lemke, Huron Valley Lutheran, Sophomore, Soccer

Benny Lemke has sparked the Hawks offense, scoring 8 goals for the Hawks in the month of September

 

Whitmore Lake

Carina Burchi, Whitmore Lake, Freshman , Cross Country

Carina ran the second fastest time in school history, 18:55 at New Balance Invitational.  She helped the team win the first MIAC Jamboree.  She has finished in the top three in every race this season.  Currently ranked #1 in the region and #2 in the state.

 

Nathan Francis, Whitmore Lake, Senior, Football

In the month of September, Nathan rushed for 562 yards and scored 10 touchdowns.  He has also accumulated 19 tackles on defense.

 

Southfield Christian Schools

Grace Ligon, Southfield Christian, Junior, Cross Country.

Grace is a 3-sport athlete who also plays basketball and runs track.  She has been the Eagles #1 runner all season having run a season best 22:53 at the Holly Invitational in which she medaled with her top 25 finish.

 

Joseph Stevens, Southfield Christian, Freshman, Cross Country

Joseph has gotten off to a great start to his high school career.  In the Eagles’ first six races he has run a personal best every time.  His last personal best game at the MIAC Jamboree where he ran a 21:35.  Overall this season he has dropped almost two minutes off his time.

 

 

The Roeper School

Rachel Wine, The Roeper School, Senior, Volleyball

We owe a big portion of our success this season to Senior Rachel Wine’s (#2)  hard work as a setter. Without the setter, there is no kill.

 

Novi Christian Academy

Josie Dubuc, Novi Christian Academy, Junior, Cross Country

Has been running well all season and NCA’s top girls cross country runner. In September, she has medaled in 3 meets in September (finishing in 3rd, 10th, and 3rd in those races). She also was a big part of bringing home the team’s first trophy from the Whitmore Lake Invitational.

Jacob Skidmore, Novi Christian Academy, Senior, Cross Country 

Since working hard over this summer, Jacob has been leading the boys cross country team and running some great times all season. In September, Jacob set his record 5K time. He also won 4 medals in meets. Lastly, he was vital in the NCA team coming in 2nd in the first MIAC Jamboree (the schools highest finish) and winning 2 team trophies during the month.

 

Clarenceville

Angelina Wilder, Clarenceville, Junior, Volleyball

As captain of the team, Angelina’s leadership on the court has inspired her teammates. Angelina has kicked off the volleyball season strong leading the lady Trojans in kills and blocks.  She has dominated the net averaging 6 kills and 3 blocks per match. Her court awareness makes her a lethal attacker and defender. Congratulations on a great start to the season!

 

Oakland Christian

Eliza Keith, Oakland Christian, Sophomore, Cross Country – Eliza finished 3rd at the Rochester Adams Invite and finished 1st at the OCS Invite, Genesee Invite, Holly Invite, Whitmore Lake Invite, and MIAC Jamboree.
Lucas Kolb, Oakland Christian, Junior,  Football – Lucas plays Offensive Line, Quarterback, Defensive End, and Linebacker for OCS. Lucas leads the team with 595 yards rushing, 10 TDs, and 11 tackles a game. Lucas’s versatility helps him with superior play at different positions.
