M.I.A.C. Student Athletes of the Month

Hallie Creighton, Junior, Volleyball, Setter (Captain), Plymouth Christian
Due to close contact-The PCA Varsity Volleyball team found themselves “senior-less” going into MHSAA playoffs. Junior captain Hallie Creighton stepped up both in her play but more importantly, her leadership, helping PCA earn a District Championship and a Regional Semi-Final win before falling to Lansing Christian in the Regional Final. Hallie’s leadership stood out in key moments in the playoffs and throughout the regular season. Great job Hallie!

Aubrey Dubuc, Sophomore, Cross Country, Novi Christian Academy
Aubrey started running cross country a few weeks into the season and had no running experience. She improved her personal record five times this season and eventually medaled in two meets, qualified for States, and posted NCA’s second fastest time. At States, she ran her best time and was able to finish in the top 100, the first NCA Girls Varsity Cross Country athlete to do so.

Boys Cross Country Team, The Roeper School
Roeper Cross Country was Regional Runner up and qualified their first team to the MHSAA State Finals in school history. Congratulations to Will Hoover, Jonnie Dunne, A.J. Owen, Van Saroukhanian, Aiden Song, David Cornier-Bridgeforth, and Yasir Yuhas.

Erika VanLoton and Natalie Malczyk, Sophomores, Cross Country, Huron Valley Lutheran
For the second year in a row, Huron Valley Lutheran sophomores, Erika Van Loton and Natalie Malczyk both qualified to the Cross Country State Championships. Both in their first year eligible also qualified for Academic Allstate. Erika finished seventh and earned both Allstate and Academic Allstate honors. Natalie finished 108th and just missed being named Academic Allstate. Both will look to make a third straight trip next year as juniors.

Emily Rudzinski, Senior, Volleyball, Parkway Christian
Emily has been a captain for three years on the varsity volleyball team. She received Academic All State recognition for maintaining a 4.0 grade point average throughout her high school career.

Girls Cross Country Team, Southfield Christian
The girls cross-country team had one returner from last season and seven new runners this year. The team was able to qualify for the MHSAA State Finals this fall, for the first time since 2016, after finishing third at the regionals. Congratulations on a great season from Alexis Donnan, Claire Hanafee, Maddie Kragt, Grace Ligon, Emme Hanafee, Madison Roberts, Lilly Hallgren and Gabby Shakespeare.

Cole Rinna, Brooke Craven, and Natalie Meadows, Cross Country, Whitmore Lake
Cole (Jr), Brooke (So) and Natalie (Fr) all qualified for the MHSAA State XC Finals at Michigan International Speedway.
Brooke finished 49th overall, Cole finished 95th overall andNatalie finished 110th overall.
Katie Hopkins, Hailee Ide, Kaylee Page, Volleyball, Oakland Christian
OCS wants to honor Katie Hopkins, Hailee Ide, and Kaylee Page for being 4-year starters on the volleyball team. OCS has watched them grow through their careers culminating with a Blue Division Championship and a Regional Championship their senior year. They also helped the team earn Academic All-State honors as well as Katie earned Individual Academic All-State honors. They are still alive in the playoffs once they restart. OCS will miss you.
